About the NOGA Golf Tournaments

The NOGA Golf Tournaments was started in 1924 as a way to get some friends together enjoying the sport and also helping start and support the Jr. Golf Program of New Orleans. In 2008, NOGA expanded to include 328 members. We look forward to another great year with some great golf and social times. Due to the increase in the number of members wanting to play in each tourney, it becomes difficult at some of the particular courses to fulfill the entries received. This is due to the limited number of golf carts which some of the courses have. This is particulary true for the AM rounds at the courses. It seem that the overwhelming majority of the members request AM tee time. Of course, this becomes impossible to fulfill for the reason stated above, the number of carts available. It may be in the future that we have to drop some of the courses which we have been playing for years due to this problem. It may also become a reality that we force some of the members to rotate their playing tee times and that they play in the PM on several tourneys. The Board of Directors realize  that most of the members of our organization are retired and that this should not be a problem. The Board also realizes that we have a huge amount of the members, because of their age and or health, cannot play in the PM due to the heat in the summer months.  

Some of the courses which we play have a working relationship with nearby courses to borrow carts for some tourneys. Hopefully this practice will continue.
